Our hearts went out to this family of four when they shared that the entire second story of their home simply wasn’t working for their lifestyle. Two busy working parents with active children had neither the time nor the bandwidth to reimagine the space they’d long hoped to transform—so they turned to our team to get it right.
We began with our signature Design Discovery process, where the couple experienced a bit of design therapy to uncover their true needs and their desire for a master suite that felt like a sanctuary after long, demanding days. From there, the Et Sal team re-envisioned the full flow of their primary suite—closet, bathroom, and bedroom—so every square foot served a purpose.
A fully custom closet was designed to maximize storage and create intuitive organization, giving every item a designated place. In the primary bathroom, we optimized the layout to include toilet privacy, a larger vanity to accommodate busy mornings for all four family members, a generous shower, and a true soaking tub for restorative moments of calm.
The bedroom was transformed into a retreat with a dedicated sitting nook, complete with an heirloom chaise lounge passed down for generations. A perfect space to read, unwind, or enjoy a glass of wine. We reoriented the bed for better flow, layered in new ambient lighting for differing sleep schedules, and added all-new furnishings, custom textiles, and intentionally selected bedding.
Their daughter’s bathroom was also updated, bringing both beauty and improved functionality to a previously untouched 1990s tract-home layout.
The design process took two months, the build four, and furnishings an additional two—resulting in a second floor that finally supports the way this family truly lives.
